В монографии представлено современное понимание истории Реформации и религиозно-политической борьбы в Англии XVI — первые десятилетия XVII века. Данный период в британской истории был временем разрыва церковно-административных связей с римско-католической церковью, началом формирования национальной церкви и пуританизма, комплекс этих факторов оказал большое влияние на развитие духовной культуры во всем англоязычном мире.
