Подобное случалось в каждом поколении македонских царей в течение двух столетий до Александра и снова произошло, когда он умер. Ради блага своего народа Александру нужен был взрослый наследник, но детей у него не было, а соперников он устранял. Это была безответственность крайне интровертного человека, последствием ее стали 50 лет войн после смерти Александра и разрушение его империи.
